New Restaurant will put film and food on menu

A “cinema-room” being built into the exciting new Wildwood Restaurant – now taking shape in the former shopping arcade – will be designed to appeal to a wide audience.

Banks Long & Co Managing Director Tim Bradford said: “Wildwood’s innovative approach to its newest venue, being created by the stylish transformation of The Mall in the upper High Street, spells good news all round.

“This is a new concept for the city and we think it will go down a storm. It is also creating 30 new jobs.

“The “cinema room” will be open for bookings by business groups and organisers of mini conferences and available for hire privately by families, including those who want to host a children’s party and entertain the youngsters by showing their own film (DVD).

“In addition, Wildwood will also be offering regular Thursday film nights, designed to appeal to people who want to relax over a meal and take in a film, as part of a leisurely evening out.”

Wildwood, which is owned by Tasty Plc, and specialises in grilled dishes, stone-baked pizza and freshly-prepared pasta, has had Lincoln “on its radar” for some time and has picked a location which is ideal to catch regular local and passing trade.

“The fact that Wildwood is bringing its name here reflects the ongoing growth being seen in Lincoln and the city’s increasing ability to attract food and entertainment businesses which have traditionally favoured other major towns and cities first,” said Mr Bradford.

Contractor Maher Millard Construction, which is hard at work on site, is due to finish its conversion of the old Mall by May. Shopfitters will follow and put the finishing touches to the eatery and “cinema room”.

“Everything is on course for Wildwood to open this Summer and we are confident that it will attract daytime trade from office workers, shoppers and tourists and also boost Lincoln’s vibrant evening economy,” added Mr Bradford.
