SWEET SIGNING FOR THE CORNHILL QUARTER

Banks Long & Co is delighted to announce that a fast-expanding confectionery business is poised to bring an exciting new name to Lincoln’s growing retail and leisure scene.

As joint letting agent for Lincolnshire Co-op on The Cornhill Quarter scheme (along with KLM Retail), Banks Long & Co is pleased to have leased a unit in this regenerated part of the city to the handmade doughnut business, Doughnotts.

Doughnotts’ Lincoln store, which is due to open later this year, will be the company’s fourth shop and will be located within phase two of Lincolnshire Co-op’s stunning £70 million redevelopment of The Cornhill Quarter.

The Society’s massive regeneration of this part of Lincoln, has already attracted other successful signings, including Seasalt, énergie Fitness and the coffee specialist 200 degrees, and seen the relocation of Lincoln’s Lakeland shop.

Other tenants include Cosy Club, Moss Bros, Flying Tiger Copenhagen and Thomas Cook.

Banks Long & Co Managing Director Tim Bradford said: “The Cornhill Quarter is attracting a wide range of quality brands, exactly in line with our ambition to create a truly mixed-use scheme.

“This area includes the Cornhill, Sincil Street and St Mary’s Street and features a mix of refurbished and extended properties, as well as new buildings.  We are continuing to have serious discussions with other quality retail and leisure brands and hope to be able to share more news on these in the months ahead."

The first phase of the scheme saw the sympathetic restoration of The Corn Exchange Building, completed in 2017.  Work is nearing completion on the second phase of redevelopment and has started on phase three.

It will see the creation of the iconic Everyman Cinema, with The Botanist taking space underneath.

Doughnotts’ founders’ Wade Smith and Megan Scadden said they are “itching” to open in Lincoln and bring something new to the city.
