A 100% PASS RATE FOR THE FIRST PHASE OF BANKS LONG & CO GRADUATES

Just over 12 months ago, we proudly launched the Banks Long & Co Graduate Training Programme, a structure designed to widen the experience of new graduates joining our team and retain talented young professionals within Lincolnshire.

The programme we deliver at Banks Long & Co gives our graduates access to our team of consultants and surveyors, who provide practical experience and training within Building & Cost Consultancy, Development & Investment Consultancy, Management & Professional Services and Commercial Property Agency, giving a balanced understanding of the sector.

Now 12 months on from its launch, we are celebrating the first of our graduates to complete the training programme and become certified RICS registered valuers.

The completion of the Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) ensures that candidates are competent and meet the high standards of professionalism required to become a chartered surveyor. The APC requires graduates to undertake at least 400 days of practical experience within the role, and a further 48 hours of CPD, culminating in an assessment of their technical and professional practice, interpersonal, business and management skills.

Having completed the APC myself a few years ago, I felt very passionately about being able to lead this programme for Banks Long & Co and support the next phase of talent into our business. With 5 graduates currently on the programme, and looking to expand in the near future, Harry Collins and Harry Hodgkinson are the first to pass this significant landmark in their career.

As part of our commitment to the graduate programme, I spent a lot of time working with both Harry’s to ensure that we had regular meetings, developed a training programme that ensured they received experience in the right areas from the right people, and as a group we spent countless hours working through mock exam interviews and Q&A sessions.

Both Harry Collins and Harry Hodkinson have worked incredibly hard over the past few years. To get to the stage of MRICS accreditation, it takes a minimum of 5 years dedication, both within a university setting and practical workplace.

I know that with this significant milestone cleared, both Harry Hodgkinson and Harry Collins are looking forward to progressing their careers with Banks Long & Co.

As we continue to support and celebrate the achievements of our first graduates, I am excited to see the next phase of talent progress, as our colleagues William Nuttall and Cameron McRae are soon reaching the completion of their Masters Degrees in Real Estate and have recently started their APCs, and Patrick Ford works towards his APC in Project Management.  We are also pleased to support Sophie Slight as she works towards AssocRICS accreditation in Commercial Property Management.

Watch this space as we will have more celebrations and news to come soon!
