MOTOR TRADE SPECIALISTS TEAM-UP FOR EXTRA SUCCESS
The owners of two established motor trade businesses have pooled their experience, created a new venture and relocated to one of the fastest-growing areas of Lincoln.
Kim Hallacy and Stuart Edwards, who head-up a six-strong team, have brought their individual businesses together under a new name, Lincoln Automotive Solutions, after investing in a “double-sized” unit in Exchange Road in the south of the city.
Lincoln-based chartered surveyor Banks Long & Co has leased the building to Mr Hallacy and Mr Edwards on behalf of a private client.
Stuart, the founder of Lincoln Trade Cars (who sells secondhand vehicles) and Kim, a repairs specialist (formerly trading as K Hallacy Ltd), are now working together under one roof, after moving from Great Northern Terrace.
Kim said: “We were keen to create a new one-stop shop for commercial and domestic customers old and new, where they could get their vehicles serviced or repaired, bodywork done, order new tyres and exhausts and have their MoTs arranged. We do diagnostic work using the latest technology.
“The southern end of the city appealed to us because of the wealth of industry which is now located in this lively area and also the fact that it is close to the A46.
“Stuart has brought 35 years experience to the business and I spent 15 years working as an aerospace engineer with the RAF before I went self-employed, doing smart body repairs, which I have now been doing for 24 years. Our former businesses complemented each other and this was a logical move for the future.”
Banks Long & Co Trainee Surveyor Harry Hodgkinson said: “We are pleased to have leased numbers 1 and 2 Exchange Road to Mr Edwards and Mr Hallacy and wish them both the best for their combined venture.
“Together these units form one large building, which has given Lincoln Automotive Solutions more than 3,800 sq ft of valuable workshop space, featuring in-out access, and office accommodation, with external parking space.”
