New Vision for Skegness Foreshore

East Lindsey District Council have engaged Banks Long & Co to assist in securing expressions of interest from commercial leisure investors/developers/operators in the five lots on the Skegness foreshore.  The sites, including the former Festival Pavillion site and Skegness Chalet Site, are available on either a Long Leasehold or Leasehold basis.

Lot 1 is the Skegness Chalet Site: A plot of circa 16,500 sq m with detailed planning consent for 16 seasonal overnight lodges and a reception building.

Lot 2 is the Southern Bowling Greens: A plot of circa 7,250 sq m consisting of two former bowling greens, with road frontage to Princes Parade adjacent to the main vehicular access to the Pavillion Car Park.

Lot 3 is the Southern Boating Lake: A plot of circa 13,500 sq m consisting of the Southern Boating Lake (including the central island) and surrounding walkways, internal bridges, and terraced seating.

Lot 4 is the Former Festival Pavillion Site: A plot of 2,800 sq m which is earmarked within the Skegness Foreshore Masterplan for some form of commercial, landmark development potentially offering high-level views across Skegness.

Lot 5 is the Pier Field Chalets: A plot of at least 3,500 sq m currently comprising a suite of 24 disused former chalets and facilities on land adjacent to the Skegness Pier, Pier Fields (Premier Inn/KFC), and the foreshore waterway (footprint to be extended to include adjacent open areas).

The Lots create an opportunity to become an important part of the coastal resort’s development which is already flourishing due to the increased demand for UK holidays and the £24.5m Towns Fund Award.

Recent major brands to invest in the town include Premier Inn, Travelodge and Starbucks. Investment has been forthcoming due to the growth in domestic tourism, from which Skegness has seen a significant increase in visitors, becoming the fourth most visited seaside resort in the UK.
