Redefining the use of QR codes in commercial property
A blog by Yasmin Woodcock
As a marketing coordinator for Banks Long & Co, I am proud to say that I have been able to help them become the first commercial property business in Lincolnshire to start using QR codes on their signage boards. With the increased use of QR codes in the last year, I saw an opportunity to help our business stand out from the competition and make it easier for potential clients to find our properties online.
As a result of the pandemic, QR codes have become an integral part of our everyday lives. They have been used for a variety of different tasks, including contactless payments, ordering food and drink, and for getting access to venues. With the general public becoming increasingly used to using QR codes, I thought it was the perfect opportunity for Banks Long & Co to capitalise on this technology and use it to our advantage.
By putting QR codes on our signage boards, we can make it easier and faster for potential clients to find our properties online. Instead of having to type in long web addresses, they can simply scan the QR code on the board and be taken directly to the relevant website, saving them time and effort. This is especially useful when you consider the amount of time people are spending searching for the right property.
As part of my marketing diploma, I developed a plan to implement QR codes into our signage boards. This included creating process to get the QR codes printed and assigned to the right board. I also set up a tracking system to monitor how successful the campaign was and how many people were using the codes.
The results of the campaign have been incredibly positive. We have seen an increase in the number of people using the codes and an overall increase in our online property searches. People are now familiar with the concept of QR codes and how to use them, which has helped to improve our visibility and make us stand out from the competition. As a result of the success of the trial, we will now be rolling out the QR codes across all our new property boards.
I am delighted that I have been able to help Banks Long & Co become the first commercial property business to start using QR codes on our signage boards. This has not only enabled us to reach a wider audience but also to improve our online presence and make it easier for potential clients to find our properties. This is an achievement that I am incredibly proud of and I am sure that it will continue to benefit the business for many years to come.
